Ministry Listings PDF Print E-mail

Ministries is an often over used word in Christian circles.  Many times it is thought that there should be a large number of ministries for a church to be effective in reaching people for Christ; however that is not the case.

At Faith Assembly Church, we view a ministry as any activity that is open for participation by members, visitors and people from the community that provides a service or supplies a need that is not met somewhere else in the community. Also, we should have the talent, finances and drive to meet the need.

We have three rules for determining whether a new ministry will be introduced at Faith Assembly Church;

  1. Someone, within the church, must have recognized, evaluated and documented a need that is not being met by some other organization within the community or other ministry within the church itself.
  2. Once a need is identified, a sponsor/leader must be identified to continue the evaluation.  This person must have a calling from God that creates a passion, desire and drive to accomplish the goals and challenges that God provides via His Holy Spirit as it pertains to the proposed ministry. A ministry plan must be created that provides processes and policies that would be used to organize and develop the ministry on God’s Timetable.  This ministry plan then must be presented to the Servant’s Council for initial approval.
  3. Once approved by the Servant’s Council, the sponsor/leader needs to identify his/her leadership team, develop an infrastructure and process flow to bring the ministry into reality.

 If any of these three steps fail, the planned ministry is shelved until such time that all the components come back into alignment with God’s will.  We feel compelled to listen and respond to every query about a new ministry but discerning, with God’s Holy Spirit, to see that it is in God’s will for Faith Assembly Church to provide the solution.
